God Says Wait (2 Samuel 7:1-17) Sunday School Lesson & Activities for Kids PDF

Sometimes we wonder why God does things the way He does, and there will likely be things we don’t understand. Like any good parent, the Lord provides what we need, although perhaps not in the way or timing we’d want. This lesson looks at the story of God’s promise to King David. It’s a great reminder that we can trust God’s plans for us. Sometimes He tells us “no” or “wait,” but He always has our best interests in mind and has a purpose for our lives. He keeps His promises and grants us great blessings!

We might not always get what we think we want, and we often don’t understand God’s will and timing. However, we can count on His promises. God promised David a throne forever, and through His line provided the Messiah, Jesus, the greatest King of all! We know that God has given us salvation through His Son. That is the greatest gift we could receive. Even if we don’t have all that we’d wish for in this life, we have eternal life through Him.
